Our annual field trip to Helen Tubing and Waterpark was truly an adventure this year. We left Douglasville with hopes of promise of a break in the weather. There were forecasts of 80% rain with clearing through out the day. In fact we started planning a fallback activity just in case we did not make it to our destination. When we pulled up to the waterpark, we were told the river was good and the waterpark was a go. That did not last long. Soon as we saw 12 adults off on the river, the bottom broke out the sky and thunder was not far behind. Of course with safety in mind, the kids were not allowed to use the waterpark and the staff scrambled to get the 12 adults off the river. We ended up fellowshipping, having lunch and making our way back to Douglasville. Our gracious host at the waterpark, invited our crew back on another day of their choice to enjoy the facilities…my hats off to Lisa and her crew! Also thank you to Music and Arts on the Plaza for being our Transportation Sponsor and WellStar Douglas Volunteers for being our Lunch Sponsor! We look forward to our July field trip to Desoto Caverns!
