Beyond the Front Porch enables students who mostly come from under-served households to increase their potential for success by introducing them to places of educational value that will inspire their desire for life-long learning with the support of their families and loved ones.
We bring educational experiences (including transportation and lunch) to underserved students who may not have the resources to participate in educational learning experiences beyond their current surroundings.
We provide educational day trips in Douglasville (leaving Arbor Place Mall) and the Tri-Cities area (East Point, College Park, Hapeville, leaving from Greenbriar Mall) on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, respectively.
Our founder, Kascia Polk, has been awarded the Regions Bank 2024 Lee Ann Petty Heart of Service Award. This well deserved award is Regions’ highest honor for community involvement. While presenting the award, Regions Chairman, President, and CEO John Turner commented that Kascia’s “story is an example for all of us. Our mission is to make life better for the people and places we serve, and you put that mission into action in how you serve others every day.”
We would like to recognize those who believe in BTFP’s mission to support our efforts on a continuous basis. We rely on community support to help implement our vision. None of this would be possible without the generous financial support of our vision partners.
We seek to bring back the experience of educational field trips to our school aged children and expose economically disadvantaged teens to non traditional activities beyond their current surroundings. Beyond the Front Porch serves the children of Douglas County, Tri-Cities, and surrounding areas.
